Electrical Technician

Overview

We are seeking a skilled and dependable Electrical Technician to install, maintain, and repair electrical systems across our facilities. The ideal candidate will ensure the safe and efficient operation of wiring, lighting, control panels, motors, and power distribution systems. This role plays a critical part in minimizing downtime, maintaining compliance with safety standards, and supporting continuous operational efficiency within the facility.

Responsibilities

  • Install, test, and maintain electrical systems, equipment, and control panels.

  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on electrical components, including motors, generators, transformers, and switchgear.

  • Troubleshoot and repair faults in electrical circuits using appropriate tools and diagnostic devices.

  • Respond promptly to breakdowns to restore power and minimize operational disruptions.

  • Ensure all electrical work complies with safety codes, company standards, and regulatory requirements.

  • Conduct safety checks and implement preventive measures to mitigate electrical hazards.

  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs.

  • Support new installations, commissioning projects, and system upgrades.

  • Monitor electrical spare parts inventory and recommend restocking as needed.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Diploma, Trade Test, or Technical Certificate in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Technology, or related field.

  • Minimum of 3–5 years experience as an Electrical Technician within a facility, plant, or industrial environment.

  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, wiring methods, and power distribution.

  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, electrical schematics, and manuals.

  • Familiarity with generators, motors, control systems, and low/high-voltage installations.

  • Knowledge of national electrical codes and workplace safety practices.

Skills & Competencies

  • Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills.

  • Proficient in using electrical diagnostic and testing tools.

  • Strong attention to detail with a focus on safety and reliability.

  • Effective communication and teamwork abilities.

  • Good organizational and time-management skills.

  • Computer literacy and experience using maintenance management software is an advantage.
